My name is Michelle Campuzano, and I am 38 years old. I am originally from San Francisco, and I moved to Arizona when I was 10. I have traveled to many different countries and cities during my life, and it always makes me appreciate the level of community involvement and support that Arizona offers. We have an abundance of diverse groups here that are able to fulfill the needs of our different areas. To see that level of involvement to aide and assist those within Arizona is gratifying and helps me to appreciate what I have as well as look past the little things in my life.
Helping Hands for Single Moms is one that comes to mind. They are a state organization that is becoming a regional movement. They provide single mothers with opportunities to attend college which I feel is amazing. The Greater Purpose Project which works with adults and children. They help the community by teaching people to assist themselves by serving their community. Essentially, finding the hero within themselves by making a difference in the lives of others.
Seeing these different groups facilitate and provide for the needs of the people in Arizona is very satisfying for me. How can a person not be moved by witnessing these actions? I feel the heart of Arizona is compassionate and it is many people uniting for positive change, and that’s what makes Arizona a great state to live.”
